Solar panels for your home in the UK
MCS-certified residential solar designed around your roof, your routine, and your bills. Tier 1 panels, optional battery storage, and an installation team that leaves your home just as we found it.
Take control of your energy bills with home solar
Your home deserves an energy supply that is steady, predictable, and built to last. With solar panels on the roof, free daylight becomes a long-term hedge against unpredictable tariffs and the easiest way to bring household bills down.
Savings from day one
The moment your system is switched on, your roof starts producing electricity you would otherwise buy from the grid. As tariffs climb, those monthly savings climb with them.
Lower bills, same comfort
Your home runs exactly as before, just with far less drawn from the grid. Surplus generation is paid for under the Smart Export Guarantee, turning unused power into income.
A more valuable property
Energy-efficient homes attract stronger offers and faster sales. Buyers increasingly look for solar-ready properties that are cheaper to run for years to come.
Real impact for the planet
Every kilowatt-hour you generate at home displaces fossil-fuel electricity from the grid, shrinking your household carbon footprint without any change to how you live.
A stronger EPC rating
Adding solar typically lifts your property's energy performance certificate, useful for selling, letting, and staying ahead of evolving UK energy rules.
Independence with battery
Pair the array with battery storage and you decide when to use solar, during peak-rate evenings, overnight, or as backup during outages.
How a home solar installation works
Switching to solar can feel like a big step. We keep it simple, handling everything from the first roof check to your first watt of clean energy.
Free home survey
We visit your property, inspect the roof, and talk through how your household uses energy so the design fits the building and the people in it.
Clean, neat installation
Our MCS-certified team arrives prepared, installs the panels safely, and finishes most homes inside one to two days, with minimal disruption indoors.
Test, tidy and handover
We commission the full system, leave the house exactly as we found it, and walk you through your live generation, savings, and monitoring app.
Clean power from day one
From the moment your meter is switched on, your roof is generating, bills are dropping, and any surplus is being paid for under SEG.
Our residential solar services
No two homes use energy in the same way. Every Suncharge system is designed around your space, your usage, and how your household actually runs day to day.
Home solar panels
High-performance panels designed around the shape, pitch, and orientation of your roof. The aim is simple: more energy from the space you already have.
More on solar panels →Home battery storage
Battery storage lets you keep the solar you generate during the day and use it at night, when grid power is most expensive. More control, fewer surprises.
More on battery storage →Home EV charging
A solar-linked EV charger lets you fuel your car straight from your roof. Cheaper miles, cleaner driving, and a charger that schedules around sunshine.
More on EV charging →Inverters & monitoring
The inverter is the heart of your system, converting sunlight into usable home power. We fit reliable, efficient units paired with a clear monitoring app.

Two starting points designed around typical UK homes. We tune the kit and sizing to your roof, your usage, and your goals before quoting.
10 panels + 9 kWh battery
A balanced starting point for the average UK home, enough generation to cover daytime use and enough storage to push solar into the evening.
- Around 4 kWp of Tier 1 panels
- 9 kWh lithium battery storage
- MCS-certified installation
- Smart Export Guarantee setup
16 panels + 13.5 kWh battery
Built for larger households, EV owners, or all-electric homes. More generation, more storage, and headroom for an EV charger or heat pump.
- Around 7 kWp of Tier 1 panels
- 13.5 kWh battery storage
- Hybrid inverter for solar + battery
- EV-charger-ready configuration
Home solar installation questions
The answers homeowners ask us most often. Anything we have not covered? Send us a message and we will come back with a clear, honest answer.
- How does the Smart Export Guarantee work?
- The Smart Export Guarantee is a UK scheme that pays you for the surplus solar electricity you send back to the grid. Even when you are out, your roof is earning.
- How long do home solar panels last?
- Quality panels typically last 25 to 30 years. Most manufacturers provide a 10 to 12 year product warranty and a performance warranty guaranteeing roughly 80 to 90% output after 25 years.
- Will solar work if my roof is partly shaded?
- Yes. Shading reduces output a little, but DC optimisers or microinverters keep production stable on the parts of the roof that are unaffected.
- How disruptive is the installation?
- Most homes are installed in one to three days, with the majority of work happening on the roof and around the inverter location. Day-to-day life inside the home is barely affected.
- Can I use solar during a power cut?
- Standard solar systems shut down during outages for safety. If you pair the array with a battery that has backup capability, you can keep essential circuits running on stored solar energy.
