Commercial solar panel installation for UK businesses

MCS-certified rooftop and ground-mount solar PV for UK businesses. Tier 1 panels, ROI-led design, and 25-year performance warranties from feasibility through to ongoing O&M.

Solar that pays back, not just panels on a roof

Three principles run through every commercial solar project we deliver: best-in-class hardware, design built around your real load, and a measurable ROI you can take to the board.

Tier 1 panels, MCS-certified install

We design every commercial array around Tier 1 monocrystalline modules and pair them with proven string or hybrid inverters. Installations are MCS-certified so you keep access to SEG export payments and clean compliance.

ROI-led system sizing

We size every kWp against your half-hourly load, not a generic roof study. The goal is the highest self-consumption at the shortest payback, typically 4-8 years on UK commercial sites.

25-year generation, 40-70% bill cut

Solar PV is a long-duration asset: 25-year linear performance warranties, predictable yield, and a hedge against rising grid tariffs. Most clients see electricity spend fall 40-70% from year one.

Already have solar, or planning a system that will export to the grid? See how we structure battery storage and SEG export contracts around your generation, self-consumption, and surplus export profile.

Indicative commercial system sizes

Indicative kWp ranges, capex, and payback windows for typical UK commercial roofs. Material costs, connection class, and roof condition will move these numbers, so use them as a starting frame.

Benchmarks based on 2024 commercial installs; your site's orientation, shading, and DNO outcome will differ.

Beyond the panel price

Tax, SEG, and DNO matter as much as kit

The headline panel price tells you almost nothing about the real return. The commercial outcome is shaped by capital allowances, your export tariff, and the DNO connection terms. We work all three in parallel so the project lands on time and on model.

  • Capital allowances and full expensing can recover a meaningful share of solar capex against corporation tax in year one.
  • Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) tariffs vary by supplier; we tender the export contract alongside the install so surplus generation is paid fairly.
  • DNO connection class, G99 application, and any export limitation must be sized into the design from day one to avoid costly reworks.

The “export-limited?” check

Sites with weak grid headroom may need export limitation or G100 to keep the design viable. We assess DNO capacity early so you know whether to size for full export, partial export, or pure self-consumption with battery storage. Either way, your accountant gets the numbers they need to claim full expensing where it applies.

Engineering and installation, end to end

Every layer of the install matters: roof, racking, panels, optimisers, inverters, AC connection, and commissioning. We own each step in-house so the system performs as modelled.

Site survey & roof structural review

Drone roof scans, structural load checks, and shading analysis so we know exactly what your asset can carry before a single panel is ordered.

Half-hourly load profiling

We pull 12 months of HH data to model self-consumption, export volume, and the right inverter and optimiser layout for your shift pattern.

String, hybrid & optimised designs

Where roofs have shading or split orientations, we deploy DC optimisers and hybrid inverters to keep yield high without overspending on hardware.

MCS-certified installation crews

Directly employed installers, IPAF and PASMA tickets, RAMS for every site. Most commercial roofs commission inside 2-6 weeks.

25-year warranty & O&M

25-year linear panel warranties, 10-12 year inverter cover, and an optional O&M package with remote monitoring and annual cleans.

A practical four-stage install path

We keep the milestones commercial: real generation, audit-ready paperwork, and a clear handover so finance and ESG teams report from the same number.

  1. 1

Feasibility: roof survey, HH data review, and an indicative kWp, yield, and payback model.

  2. 2

Design & DNO: full system design, structural sign-off, and G99 / G100 connection application with the DNO.

  3. 3

Install & commission: scaffold, mount, panels, inverters, AC works, and commissioning under MCS.

  4. 4

Monitor & optimise: remote portal, performance reporting, and an annual O&M visit to protect your ROI.

Common questions

What payback should we expect from commercial solar?
Most UK commercial systems we model land between 4 and 8 years, with a 25-year asset life behind that. Payback depends on roof orientation, on-site self-consumption, your unit rate, and whether you pair the array with battery storage.
Is our roof strong enough for solar PV?
We commission a structural review on every project before pricing. Modern Tier 1 panels and lightweight aluminium racking are suitable for the vast majority of warehouse, retail, and industrial roofs, including profile metal and standing seam.
Do we need MCS certification to claim SEG?
Yes. SEG export payments require an MCS-certified installation up to 5 MW. Every system we deliver is installed by MCS-certified engineers, so you keep full access to export revenue and warranty claims.
